Fox Street Office

Situated in the Ford Motor Company Building, Fox St. Office occupies the heritage shell to create a varied & engaging workplace around a central internal street. Using the volume of the exposed timber truss ceiling and large floor plate creates open-plan work areas, encouraging interaction and opportunity for informal meeting. A new staircase in steel plate spans between the ground and first floor. Salvaged brick, steel plate, steel window joinery, salvaged Rimu and sand cement plaster blend new and existing building fabric.

Project Details: Internal floor area is 1000m2. Construction was completed in mid 2013. Fearon Hay’s project team was led by Gordon Gallagher & Piers Kay with Robin Gieselhardt. Tim Hay and Jeff Fearon are the design architects. Photography is by Jackie Meiring.
